Meet Coach Joe Hyde

Joe Hyde is the head coach of Punahou's intermediate soccer team. He has spent the last four years coaching club soccer on Oahu with Hawaii United F.C. and FC Hawaii. Every private session is coached by Joe himself, so your player works with the same coach every time.

Coaching experience

Joe's coaching spans club, school, and camp settings. He coached two years each with Hawaii United F.C. and FC Hawaii. He served as assistant director of the Hawaii United sports camp in 2024 and coached at the Everton Spring Camp in 2025. At Punahou, he joined the intermediate program as an assistant coach in 2025 and stepped up to head coach in 2026.

What that means for your player

That range matters in private training. Joe has coached competitive club players, school athletes, and first-time campers, so he can meet a player where they are. Sessions are built around your player's level, position, and goals, whether that's cleaner first touches, a stronger weak foot, or showing up sharper next season.

Programs: private lessons, small groups, tryout prep and keiki lessons.

In Joe's words

“I've been playing soccer since grade school, more than ten years on the ball. I played club soccer with Rush and was a varsity right back at Mililani High School. Playing that position taught me how much the small details matter: body shape, first touch under pressure, and winning your 1v1s. That's what I bring to every session. Whether your player is just starting out or working toward a varsity spot, every session is built around them.”
