1-on-1 or small group
Soccer Tryout Prep on Oahu
Soccer tryout prep is focused training for players getting ready for club or high school tryouts. Coach Joe works with players 1-on-1 or in a small group on the things coaches actually watch for, so your player walks onto the field prepared instead of hoping for a good day.
High school soccer in Hawaii is a winter sport, so fall is the busiest time for tryout prep. Club tryout dates vary, so check yours and work backward.

What a session looks like
Goal setting. A look at the team and level your player is trying out for, and what that coach is likely to evaluate.
Game-speed warm-up. Touches, turns and passing at the pace of a real tryout, not a slow jog-through.
First touch under pressure. Receiving on the move with a defender or a time limit, so the first touch sets up the next action instead of stopping play.
1v1 and decisions. Beating a defender, shielding the ball and choosing when to pass or dribble, the moments that stand out in tryout scrimmages.
Tryout-style reps and feedback. Short, intense drills modeled on common tryout formats, then honest feedback and a plan for next time.

Tryout prep is for players who already know the basics and are aiming for a club team, a higher level or a high school roster. Younger players focus on clean technique and confidence; older players work on speed of play, both feet and their position.
Several sessions spread over the weeks before tryouts do more than one session the night before. There's time to fix a habit, not just rehearse it.
Who it's for
It fits players trying out for the first time, moving up a level or coming back after a season off. It also helps nervous players: having practiced the exact skills they'll be tested on is one of the best ways to settle tryout nerves.
Outside tryout season, private soccer lessons keep the progress going.

Soccer Tryout Prep FAQ
When should my player start tryout prep?
A few weeks before tryouts, so there's time for several sessions. For high school soccer, a winter sport in Hawaii, that means starting in the fall. [TODO: how many tryout prep sessions Joe recommends, and how far ahead]
Is tryout prep 1-on-1 or in a group?
Either. 1-on-1 gives your player every rep. A small group of 2–4 players going out for the same tryout adds game-like pressure and splits the cost.
Can you guarantee my player makes the team?
No honest coach can promise that. Tryout prep makes sure your player shows up sharp, confident and ready to show what they can do.
How long is a tryout prep session?
[TODO: session length, e.g. 60 minutes] See pricing for tryout prep packages.
